Budapest - Pasaréti street 10. - 1st floor

The house was build nearly 100 years ago as a Hungarian-American person's haunting house. At that time the neighborhood was nearly empty, only a stone and brick factory was around, which is now an athletics field and sport-complex. During the World War II. the house was one of the Nazi party's residence. In 1944 Mussolini visited the house for a lunch. The next - yellow - house (Pasareti 8) was the residence of the most famous film star - Pál Jávor in the 40s - let say the Hungarian Clark Gable. When he was arrested by the Nazi's he was held in the house basement's jail.

The house is situated on the Buda side of the city. This is the hilly, more attractive and most expensive part. Lots of large and old villas, and several ambassadors residence you can find in this area. The place Pasarét - field of Pasa's - got its name from the Turkish times (16th century), when the high rank Turkish army leaders also found this place the most attractive part of the city. Today it is still rich in green gardens, good hilly air, but still very close to downtown.

The house:

There are 5 apartments in this house. The 1st floor is purely this apartment and a large terrace. The house shares a 800 m² garden. The terrace need some renewing which will happen in the first half of 2010. The stair case also need a bit renewing.

The flat:

The renewal of the flat was finished in December 2009.

The flat is the 1st floor of the house, there is no neighbor.

The size is around 65m² (two rooms, kitchen with dining room/area open with one of the rooms, bathroom, hall, another entry-room, and a storage), and a 50 sized(!) terrace. Central heating and warm water comes from the newest system, no CO, or gas-smell comes into the flat. The cooking in the kitchen is gas.

The flat at this moment is empty, it is also possible to rent it furnished, in this case we can discuss some basic set of furniture, basically new, modern IKEA style pieces, including the basic cooking and dining sets for the kitchen.
